Tap Translate - Translate directly from Safari App Reviews

This app is very good for teaching people who know most of the target language but have trouble with certain words. I was hoping that the actual translated word would be spoken as to learn a new language. If the developer could include that function this would be a killer app for learning new languages.

I bought it to read French since I only miss an occasional word, but I cant get it to work.

though it says it will read paragraphs and pages, it gives you instead a silly grin and says "text too long." On a paragraph thats really not very long at all. So the paragraph/page thing must be a lie, I suppose, but I cant tell: there is no access to support, no way to send a question to the developer, no nothing. What it WILL do is translate a single word from a Safari page. If you need that, fine. But go elsewhere for paragraphs/pages... or support. Oughta be a law, or at least a warning, against apps that provide no support.

I bought this app with great hopes because there appears to be nothing else like it on the market, but now I see the catch - it only works with certain websites. I can understand if something is under development and needs time to perfect, but after spending 20 minutes trying to find a contact email for the developer of this site and learning there isnt one, I now realize that the guy who made the app has no confidence in it, or worse yet, has given up on it an just hopes to real in a few more patsies before the app sinks into oblivion. Do yourself a big favor and do not by this app until you are certain it will work with the language and websites you are using. How can you be certain - you cant so dont risk it!

I gave 2 stars for this app couples days ago because some reason it wont work after integrate with safari in occasion. Im back because after I update the new IOS6 and the issue fixed! This is a great app I have been looking for years, now I could truly enjoy web surfing!

The app does what I want it to, which is to translate single German words. However, the app unfortunately doesnt recognize special characters like ü and ß, so it doesnt properly translate words containing those characters. Is it possible for the app to recognize those characters? The price is rather expensive for the service Im getting as well.

This app blows me away with what is capable of doing, it does what it promises.

Cant install and isnt working

The app no longer works. The app web page is no longer available.

Since my last review (below 4 stars), it seems this app is no longer working. It is a shame because it was great for language students reading foreign-language materials on the web, who only needed single-word translations from time to time (and not full-page web translations). ******** But could be better. It gets four stars because it works as advertised (though sometimes it is overly sensitive and dodgy), but needs better set-up instructions. None of the links worked on the FAQ for setting it up, and the imbedded instructional video would not run because it was "private." However, I figured out how to set it up: once you download the app, open up settings in the Tap App and select the language you want foreign-language pages translated INTO (not from) [English for me] and then press integration into Safari. Then the app opens Safari and you finish setting up the app there. If all else fails, you can use the apps browser without integration.

Its not working need to be updated! Why you dont update your stupid app ?! Shame on you! You steal our money!
